WINN-DIXIE: HISTORY OF GOLF AND GIVING BACK
The 2011 Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open presented by Planters generated $1.8 million for charity, surpassing the record-breaking $1.6 million the event raised in its inaugural year. Winn-Dixie has a history of giving back to the community through its golf events. In fact, Winn-Dixie golf events over the past six years have generated more than $9.4 million for charities throughout the regions in which Winn-Dixie operates.
In all, Winn-Dixie has been giving back to the communities surrounding its stores for more than 80 years. In 2009, Winn-Dixie donated more than $2,600,000 to fund programs that benefit women and children, hunger, education and health. PepsiCo TICKETS Fore CHARITY™
Tickets for the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open presented by Planters are available through the PepsiCo TICKETS Fore CHARITY program. Under the program, 100% of proceeds from ticket sales goes directly to participating charities in the First Coast region.
That means each tournament ticket purchased must have a designated non-profit organization that will receive 100% of the purchase price of the ticket. And rather than wait until tournament time to realize the benefits, the charities receive their ticket revenue monthly. In addition, PepsiCo has provided a $50,000 Bonus Pool for non-profit organizations that participate in the program and sell tickets. The Bonus Pool will be divided among the participating organizations based on the percentage of total ticket revenue they generate.
