Ten Weeks and Counting – The inaugural Nationwide Tour event is only ten weeks away….Oct. 18-24.
$25 Ticket = Charity Donation & All Access – The cost of a week-long ticket to the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open is only $25 if purchased in advance ($50 at the gate). 100% of every ticket sold will go to a local charity that is participating in the tournament’s PepsiCo TICKETS Fore CHARITY™ program. To date, 190 charities have signed up (tickets, as well as the list of participating charities, are available at www.winndixiejacksonvilleopen.com). On-premise parking is included in the cost of a ticket. All ticket holders will have access to the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse and the Winn-Dixie Pavilion located adjacent to the 1st/10th tees and 9th/18th greens at Dye’s Valley.
Area Player Update — “The 25″ leading money winners on the Nationwide Tour will earn their PGA TOUR cards for 2011 at the conclusion of the Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island in Charleston, S.C. which will be played the week after the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open. Coming Events on the Nationwide Tour– The Nationwide Tour is idle this week. Next week the Tour begins a 10-week run of consecutive tournaments that concludes with season-ending events in Ponte Vedra Beach and Charleston, S.C. Knoxville, Tenn. hosts the Knoxville News Sentinel Open Aug. 26-29. Knoxville is the birthplace of Chris Kirk, a St. Simons Island, Ga. resident and former University of Georgia All-American.
Did You Know? — The University of Florida and Florida State University football teams will be idle on Saturday, Oct. 23rd. The Jacksonville Jaguars will be in Kansas City for an afternoon game on Sunday, Oct. 24th.
