VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES


Admissions

Assist in checking proper admissions credentials, distribute spectator guides and groupings, and provide general information to spectators


Announcers

Introduce players to the crowd as they begin play at either #1 or #10 tee and as contestants reach #18 green during Tournament rounds, Thursday-Sunday of Tournament Week.


Darlene's Diner

Assist in the Darlene Diner operation providing food and beverage to the volunteers working the tournament.


Ecology

Coordinate tee water for contestants and ensure that the course and spectator viewing areas are free of garbage.


Facilities

Assist Tournament staff with installation of gallery control ropes, signage and other various projects as necessary during week proceeding Tournament and removal of items on Monday following tournament. Assist Nationwide Tour staff with distribution, maintenance and removal of electronic leaderboards during Tournament Week.


Gallery Control

Provide gallery control for the tournament. Volunteers will be assigned to a specific hole for Tournament Week. No experience required. Minimal golf knowledge helpful.


Gallery Control 1-10

Provide gallery control for the tournament on hole 1 and/or 10


GOLF CHANNEL

Provide assistance to broadcast operational team during Tournament Week. Roles include microphone operators, spotters and runners. NOTE: Volunteers on this committee MUST work all 4 days of the tournament (Thurs-Sunday).


Media Center

Assist Nationwide Tour Media Official with registration and welcoming of the media to the Tournament. Assist Nationwide Tour Media Official with general office administrative work during Tournament Week.


Military Outpost

Greeting Military guests and their family members in the private Military Outpost located on 16 green Thursday - Sunday. Volunteers will be responsible for stocking beverages as needed, clearing items from tables and keeping the outpost looking neat and tidy for new guests.


Parking

Operate and control proper access and flow to all parking areas during Tournament Week.


Photography

Provide photography support during the Tournament.


Practice Area

Provide gallery control of the practice areas and to regulate access to and from all practice facilities for the contestants and tournament officials. Also responsible for managing signage designating players during practice.


Pro Am Shop

Assist with the Pro-Am Golf Shop...Setting up, tearing down, helping while Pro-Am Golf Shop is open to sponsors.


Putting Contest

Volunteers will be assisting in the Putting Contest as spectators try and win a car! They will be monitoring each persons shot as well as helping organize this station.


Registration

Welcome and register tournament contestants. Coordinate securing and assigning private housing opportunities for Tournament contestants


Scoring Central

Assist Nationwide Tour Operations Staff with monitoring scoring system during Tournament rounds for distribution of live scoring information to leaderboards and www.nationwidetour.com.


Scoring Tents

Assist Nationwide Tour Rules Officials with collecting and inspecting contestant scorecards.


Spectator Shuttles

These volunteers will help shuttle spectators from the main parking lot and entrance over to the First Tee by the Winn-Dixie Pavilion. This is a far walk, so it is nice to have a ride. Volunteers will drive 6 passenger golf carts.


Standard Bearers

Accompany each group of contestants during Tournament play and display their scores in relation to par on a cumulative basis. The Standard Bearers committee consists of youth, ages 13-18, who work on Saturday and Sunday and adults, 19 and over, who work on Thursday and Friday, who must be able to carry the standard (weight is approximately 5-7 pounds) for the length of the course.


Volunteer Services

Staff the volunteer headquarters to welcome volunteers and direct them to their proper assignment location, assist with meal distribution for volunteers. Inventory and distribute volunteer apparel. Volunteers will need to be available both prior to Tournament Week and during Tournament Week.


Volunteer Shuttles

Help shuttle the volunteers to specific locations during tournament week.


Walking Scorers

Accompany each group of contestants during Tournament play to record and transmit each players hole score and statistics to Scoring Central via handheld scoring devices. Volunteers must be familiar with scoring golf and be capable of walking entire length of course.
